How to Tune Your Silver Bullet Antenna
- For wide band performance, the SWR readings on Channel 1 and 40 should be equal with the lowest reading on Ch. 20. Â You must calibrate on Ch. 1 and then check the SWR. Â Repeat this step on Ch. 40.
- If the SWR reading is higher on Ch. 40, the antenna needs to be shortened. Â Loosen the locking nut on the Silver Bullet tip and lower the tuning tip. Â Recheck the SWR and adjust the tuning tip as needed to achieve balanced readings on Ch. 1 and 40.
- If the SWR reading is higher on Ch. 1, the antenna needs to be lengthened. Â Loosen the nut on the Silver Bullet tip and raise the tuning tip. Â Recheck the SWR and adjust the tuning tip as needed to achieve balanced readings on Ch. 1 and 40.
